DVSC celebrate success for North Wales venture

DVSC have just heard that their bid for £810,000 has been approved. The money will fund a project that involves all 6 North Wales Voluntary Councils which is aimed at bringing businesses closer to the voluntary and community organisations in each of the 6 Counties. The model to be adopted in the project is the one that was successfully used by DVSC in Denbighshire over the last 17 months  and which in one case has had stunning results for example the organisation  managed to secure the support of 5 local businesses and it has meant that their "bottom line" has improved by nearly £20,000 a year for the next 10 years  and that has happened in the main through "in kind" support rather than a straight cash donation. It was amazing that once the organisation secured the first business deal , which I played a part in,  the rest of the businesses came knocking on the door in quick succession.

I am looking forward to this new North Wales project as I am sure it will prove to strengthen our communities and of course we will be creating jobs - 8 in total.

Oh and before I forget - where did we get the cash? - well its thanks to Big Lottery - so thankyou very much Big Lottery and as you can imagine they have an open invitation to visit us in Denbighshire as we would like to secure even more money to support local regeneration initiatives. In fact we are currently working on something  which we hope to go out to consultation very soon and I hasten to add  it is something different to the Community Voice programme.

  1. Well done John, good news indeed! Sounds like an interesting project. Do have a look at our website and if there's anything we can do to support, get in touch.
