The local Council , Denbighshire County along with North Wales Police, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Coleg Llandrillo and Fire Service are all going to have to find savings from within their budgets.
How they find those savings will in part be based on what the residents want to see happen and so to find out what the community of Denbighshire really does think and where the axe should fall the County Council and the Health Board have opened up on their web site an opportunity for people to comment on where savings can be made. Letters can also be sent to them.
I would urge everyone to email or write in so that the Authorities concerned clearly understand the priorities that you , the public, believe are the most important otherwise decisions will be made with which later on you may disagree with. We live in a democracy and so please exercise your democratic rights.
For our part we will be making comments and encouraging the Authorities to increase the number of opportunities where the Third Sector can bid to run public services as we know the Third Sector can deliver good quality, efficient and effective services and in times of financial difficulty I would like to think the Council and other public bodies will see the gain from working closely with us. If anyone doubts the Third Sector's ability to deliver value for money services please let me know and I can produce a list of services already outsourced in this County. I am sure when you see the list you will agree with our point of view. Clearly we should not see the only viable alternative as being private sector, without question the Third Sector has a big part to play.
