Had a good meeting this week. I submitted a topic list of 10 items and went through them one by one. I have known Rhiannon Hughes for many years and it comes as no surprise that her Cabinet portfolio includes the Third Sector as I know how committed and passionate she is and equally very aware of the issues. The Leader Councillor Hugh Evans is man of great integrity and sincerity and there is no doubt he is committed to change and wants to see the Third sector playing its part in that change. He is equally honest in declaring that whilst DVSC on behalf of the sector wants to see change around the 10 topic areas I submitted , there will inevitably be areas where it will not be possible to achieve agreement but as they say that's life . At least by identifying the areas where we can make a change is a start and as for the sticking points well its back to the lobbying be that a local level or national as clearly there will be instances where the change we require will require legislation. The subjects discussed were:
1. Scrutiny committees
2. Voluntary Code of funding practice for Third Sector
3. Delays re Denbighshire Voluntary sector grants 2009/10
4. North Wales Procurement Partnership
5. Rural Development Board
6. Regeneration Board
7. Collaborative commissioning
8. Rhyl PACT
9. Rhyl Shop-mobility
10. Community Transport
